Nikoman, My drive burns fine also and I do use the UDF format. Are you able to burn at 1x speed? Have you tested your DVD's in older DVD players and DVD-ROM drives to see if they play?
It would help me out a great deal if I could establish that the problem is my drive and not all drives. BTW, I can select 1x in Toast before burning but the drive ignores it. I discovered this by running the same burn at 1x on my daughter's Powerbook. It took over an hour longer to burn and worked on every device I tried -- unlike the disk burned with the DW-Q28A.
